where to stay in Monaco on a budget

If you want to stay in Monaco, it can be very expensive, so I would recommend to look for an accommodation in Beausoleil. Beausoleil is a city located in France, directly above Monaco. So you actually pass the border, but you don’t even notice it. If you book a rental car in France, for example at the airport in Nice, it is also better to park there, because most of them charge a surcharge if you want to drive to another country (in this case Monaco). There are also plenty of parking spaces and parking garages there. Here are some of my favorites where I stayed at.

Wenn man direkt in Monaco übernachten möchte, kann das schon sehr teuer werden, daher würde ich euch empfehlen, eine Unterkunft in Beausoleil zu suchen. Beausoleil liegt in Frankreich, direkt oberhalb von Monaco. Man passiert also die Grenze, was man aber nicht mal mitbekommt. Wenn ihr euch ein Mietauto in Frankreich, zum Beispiel am Flughafen in Nizza bucht, ist es auch besser dort zu parken, da die meisten einen Aufschlag verlangen, wenn man in ein anderes Land (in dem Fall Monaco) fahren möchte. Parkplätze und Parkhäuser gibt es dort auch genug. Hier sind einige meiner Favoriten, in denen ich übernachtet habe.

Le Mas d’Angeline – this apartment is amazing, mainly because of the view. You can see almost all of Monaco and the coast of Menton. Especially the sunrises were stunning there. The price/performance ratio is also unbeatable! The only thing I have to admit is: the way down to Monaco doesn’t take long but there are a loooot of steps that you have to go down but especially back up again. The house is located on a steep slope and also the arrival by car or driving into the parking lot can be a bit difficult.

Le Mas d’Angeline – dieses Apartment ist wirklich der absolute Traum, hauptsächlich wegen des Ausblicks – denn man sieht wirklich über fast ganz Monaco bis nach Menton. Vor allem die Sonnenaufgänge waren dort einfach traumhaft. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist noch dazu unschlagbar! Das einzige was ich hier dazu sagen muss ist: der Weg nach Monaco hinunter dauert zwar nicht lange, allerdings sind es wirklich sehr viele Stufen, die man hinunter aber vor allem wieder hinauf gehen muss. Das Haus liegt auf einem steilen Hang und auch die Anreise mit dem Auto bzw. das Fahren in den Parkplatz kann da schon etwas schwierig werden.

Hotel Forum – this hotel has a beautiful large rooftop terrace with great views of the city-state as well. The hotel is very basic, but it’s perfect for a city trip. And the location is really unbeatable. You actually just cross the street and are in the district “Les Moneghetti” in Monaco.

Hotel Forum – dieses Hotel hat eine wunderschöne große Dachterrasse mit ebenfalls tollen Ausblick auf den Stadtstaat. Das Hotel ist zwar sehr einfach, reicht aber für einen Städtetrip völlig aus. Und die Lage ist wirklich unschlagbar. Man geht eigentlich nur über die Straße und ist im Stadtteil “Les Moneghetti” in Monaco.

Airbnb – we shared this apartment with other guests, which is not for everyone, but it is so big that you do not really notice. Especially great is the huge balcony with the amazing view. There is also a parking garage, which was also quite pleasant. The apartment is also close to the district “Les Moneghetti”.

Airbnb – diese Unterkunft haben wir uns damals zwar mit anderen geteilt, was nicht jedermanns Sache ist, allerdings ist sie so groß, dass man das auch gar nicht wirklich bemerkt. Besonders toll ist vor allem der riesengroße Balkon mit dem Ausblick. Ebenso gibt es eine Parkgarage, was auch ganz angenehm war. Das Apartment ist ebenfalls gleich in der Nähe des Bezirks “Les Moneghetti”.

If you’re not looking for a budget friendly stay I highly recommend staying at The Maybourne Riviera. This hotel is amazing. Located high up on a hill with stunning views of Monaco & the coast.

Wenn es in eurem Budget liegt kann ich euch auch sehr das Hotel The Maybourne Riviera empfehlen. Das Hotel ist wirklich atemberaubend schön. Es liegt hoch oben auf einem Berg und bietet unglaubliche Ausblicke auf Monaco & die gesamte Küste.
